Why Dump Bannon?

In short: he’s a white supremacist who has built a media platform to profit off of white supremacy and give outlet to racist, sexist, and anti-Semitic views.  See Southern Poverty Law CenterCNN, and Glen Beck

There has been no shortage of words written explaining why Steve Bannon, President-Elect Trump’s pick for chief strategist is a frightening, nightmare of a prospect. Under his leadership, Breitbart, the alt-right media distributer, was named a “white ethno-nationalist propaganda mill” by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The site has featured articles with headlines such as, “Bill Kristol: Republican spoiler, renegade Jew,” “Birth control makes women unattractive and crazy," and “Hoist it high and proud: The Confederate flag proclaims a glorious heritage,” this last headline posting just days after 9 innocent people were murdered during a prayer meeting inside the Mother Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC by a Confederate flag-wearing assailant who intended to spark a race war.

Bannon has reportedly proclaimed himself a Leninist with a desire to “destroy the state” and has been quoted as saying that progressive women are “a bunch of dykes” uninterested in family. He believes that anger is the key to mobilizing the conservative base. Steve Bannon purposefully spreads disinformation and hate. His ideology is utterly toxic, and has no business being so near to the most powerful person in the world.

You have the power to speak out against this. Call your representatives, call your senators and demand that they too speak out against this appointment. Once is not enough, twice neither; we must inundate them with our disapproval. The power of the people exists beyond Election Day. Washington has ignored us because we allow them to, but no longer! We must be the thorn in their side that drives them to proper action.
